Privacy Policy

Effective September 2, 2026

The short version: MusicKeep keeps your music library on your device, and we never see it. There are no accounts, no servers of ours, no advertising, no analytics, and no tracking.

Who we are

MusicKeep is an iOS app made by Stefan Dašić, an independent developer ("we", "us"). This policy explains what the app does with information on your device and when it uses the network. It applies to the MusicKeep app and to this website.

What MusicKeep stores on your device

Everything MusicKeep knows about your music stays on your iPhone or iPad:

None of this is sent to us. MusicKeep does not require an account and has nothing to sign up for.

What we don't do

When MusicKeep uses the network

MusicKeep is offline-first. It uses the network only for features you start yourself, and only with the files you choose:

To support Wi-Fi Drop and Nearby Send, iOS asks for permission to use the local network the first time you open one of those features. MusicKeep uses that permission for nothing else.

Purchases

MusicKeep Plus subscriptions and the lifetime unlock are sold and processed entirely by Apple through your Apple Account. We never see or store your payment details. MusicKeep reads Apple's signed transaction information only to decide whether Plus is unlocked on your device. Apple's handling of purchase data is described in Apple's Privacy Policy.

Device backups

Because MusicKeep stores its data on your device, that data may be included in the iCloud or computer backups you set up in iOS. Those backups are controlled by you and by Apple, not by us. Library backups you export from Backup Center are files you own; store them wherever you like.

Diagnostics

MusicKeep contains no diagnostics or analytics of its own. If you have opted in to sharing analytics with Apple in iOS Settings, Apple may collect crash and usage information under its own terms; we do not receive it in a form that identifies you.

If you email us

If you write to support@musickeepapp.com, we receive your email address and whatever you include. We use it only to reply to you and to fix the problem you report, and we don't add it to any list or share it. Please don't send audio files, passwords, payment details, or cloud-provider credentials.

Deleting your data

You can remove tracks, downloads, playlists, lyrics, and listening history with the controls inside the app. Deleting MusicKeep from your device removes everything it stored, including any Dropbox credential in the Keychain. Because we hold no copy, there is nothing further to ask us to delete. Files stored with a third-party provider such as Dropbox must be managed with that provider.

Children

MusicKeep is a general-audience app and collects no personal information from anyone, including children.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export personal data an organisation holds about you. MusicKeep holds none, so those rights are already satisfied. If you have questions or believe something here is wrong, email us and we will respond.

This website

musickeepapp.com is a static site with no cookies, sign-ins, or analytics of ours. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which may log the request under Google's privacy policy. Your hosting provider may keep standard server logs.

Changes to this policy

If a future version of MusicKeep ever changes any of this — for example by adding optional sync — the change will be explained here with a new effective date and in the app, and any new data flow will be opt-in.
